The YSS Foundation

Formed in 1984, The Youth and Shelter Services Foundation embraces the values and guiding principles of YSS and supports the mission of YSS through the development of financial and community resources for the future. Youth and Shelter Services Foundation is a 501(c) 3 not for profit agency. The federal tax ID is 42-1239742.

Each year over 1,500 donors throughout the YSS service area support the Friends of the YSS Foundation campaign.

In addition, The YSS Foundation currently administers an Endowment of over $3 million. Each outright and planned gift to the Endowment expands and meets needs in perpetuity of Youth and Shelter Services.

Donors who have given a total cumulative gift over the years of $5,000 are members of the YSS Daedalus/Icarus Society. Members of the Society meet twice per year at a social event.

We invite you to become a Friend of YSS or a member of the Daedalus/Icarus Society. Your gifts will help us continue to serve youth and families throughout Central Iowa.
